About Welcome Home
Welcome Home provides care at home for people in Sheerness and across the Isle of Sheppey and the surrounding parts of Kent. We help with as much or as little as somebody needs, from a short call each day to several visits, and we arrange it around the household. For older people we help with washing and dressing, prompting and support with medication, meals and drinks, laundry, shopping and keeping the home comfortable, and we help people get out of the house, which is often the first thing to slip. For people living with dementia we keep the same care workers visiting wherever the rota allows, work with the routine the household already has and avoid moving things about. We support adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, where the work is usually about independence and about communicating in the way that suits the person, and people with a physical disability who need help to move safely. Where somebody has sight or hearing loss we adapt how we communicate and always say who we are. We also support people living with eating disorders, working alongside the health professionals involved and without judgement. Younger adults are supported around their own commitments.
