About Home Instead

We provide care at home for people in Sevenoaks and the surrounding Kent villages. The idea behind our work is uncomplicated. Most people would prefer to stay in their own house, in their own chair, with their own things around them, and with the right support that is very often possible for far longer than families expect. We begin by listening. What does a good day look like for you, what has become difficult, and what do you want to keep doing without help? From there we agree a pattern of visits, and we try hard to send the same small group of carers so that you are not greeting a stranger at the door. The people we support include older people, many living with dementia, as well as younger adults, people with a physical disability, people with sight or hearing loss, those with a learning disability or autism, and people managing their mental health. Visits can cover personal care, medication, meals, housework, trips out or simply time and conversation. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We take that as evidence that the basics are sound, not as a reason to stop looking at how we work. Families often tell us that the thing they value most is being kept informed, so we make a point of picking up the phone rather than waiting to be asked.
