About Channel Community Care
We are Channel Community Care, a home care agency in Folkestone, Kent. We support older people and younger adults in their own homes across the surrounding area, including people living with dementia. What people come to us for is usually the same thing described in different ways. Daily life has become harder than it was, and they would rather have help at home than give the home up. Our job is to keep that a realistic option for as long as it can be, whether that means one visit each morning or several calls covering personal care, medication, meals and the running of a household. With dementia, the detail that matters most is who comes through the door. A familiar carer makes a visit work. An unfamiliar one, however skilled, can make it impossible. We build rotas around that and accept the extra difficulty it creates. Because the work takes place in somebody's own home, how we behave there counts as much as what we do. Asking before moving anything, putting it back where it was, arriving when we said we would. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and have not yet been given an overall rating.
