About Royal Care

Royal Care Dover supports people in their own homes in Dover and across this corner of Kent. We take on a wider range of need than many agencies. Most of our work is with older adults, a good number living with dementia. We also support younger adults, people managing a mental health condition, people with a physical disability, and people who are blind, partially sighted, deaf or hard of hearing. We take on work involving eating disorders, and work involving alcohol or drugs, both of which are frequently declined elsewhere. Being willing to take that work on means being careful about who we send rather than filling gaps on a rota. Supporting somebody with an eating disorder, or alongside a drink or drug problem, asks for steadiness rather than opinion, a willingness to come back after a difficult week, and the judgement to know when a situation needs somebody with different training. We recruit and supervise with that in mind, and we say plainly when something is beyond us. The practical help is the same throughout. Washing and dressing, medicines, meals, shopping, housework, appointments, getting out of the house, and someone keeping a quiet eye on how a person is doing. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Ring us and we will come out and talk it through properly.
