Q Leaf Care is a home care agency in Deal, Kent (CT14 6ES). It holds a CQC rating of Requires Improvement.

About Q Leaf Care

Q Leaf Care supports people in their own homes in Deal and the surrounding parts of Kent. We work with older people and younger adults, with people living with dementia, and with people who have physical disabilities. Most people come to us because daily life has become harder and they would much rather stay where they are than move. What makes that possible differs in every household. It might be a short call first thing for washing, dressing and breakfast, several visits across the day, support with medication, help getting out to appointments, or a longer visit that gives a family carer a genuine break. We meet the person before anything begins, agree what will actually help, and put it in plain writing. When needs change, the plan changes with them. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather tell you that ourselves than leave you to find it elsewhere. We have accepted what was raised, we are working through it, and we are happy to go through the detail with anyone considering us. We keep the same carers going to the same homes wherever the rota allows, because being helped with private things is easier with a familiar face. Please ring us, ask us the difficult questions about how we are putting things right, and judge us on the answers.

What the inspectors found

A plain English summary of the Care Quality Commission inspection behind the current rating of Q Leaf Care Limited. Report published 12 November 2025.

  • Inspectors assessed the service between 28 July 2025 and 5 August 2025.

Safe

Inspectors found people were not always kept safe from the risk of harm or abuse because staff did not always report incidents and accidents. CQC could not be assured that all staff fully understood how to report and recognise abuse. People's health risks were well managed. The provider remains in breach of the legal regulation on safe care and treatment.

Effective

Staff completed training relevant to their role. People's needs were fully assessed before their care and support began. The provider worked well with other partners and health professionals so people received joined up and coordinated care.

Caring

People told inspectors that staff knew them well and treated them with respect. A relative said they felt confident to raise concerns.

Responsive

People and those important to them were involved in planning their care. People told inspectors that communication from staff and the registered manager was good. People were given surveys to give feedback on how satisfied they were with the care.

Well-led

The provider had governance processes in place to assess the service, but not enough improvement had been made. The provider remains in breach of the legal regulation on good governance. The provider identified issues with the culture in the staff team, including staff not always reporting incidents formally to senior leaders. The registered manager was aware and was taking action, including supervisions and meetings so staff could share concerns. The registered manager was not aware of the Right support, right care, right culture guidance.

What people told the inspectors

People told inspectors they felt safe. They said communication was good and they were involved in planning their care.
