About MCK Support

MCK Support is a home care agency in Dartford, supporting younger adults in their own homes across this part of Kent. We work with people who have a learning disability and with autistic people. The people we support are mostly at a stage of life where the question is not how to be looked after but how to get on with things. A tenancy, work or college, friendships, managing money, cooking, travelling independently. Our support is built around those ambitions rather than around a care plan that treats somebody as a set of needs. So we try to do as little as necessary and as much as is genuinely required. If a person wants to learn a bus route alone, we go with them until they no longer need us to. Where personal care is needed we give it properly and without making a performance of it. Where anxiety means some weeks are much harder than others, we expect that and we do not treat a bad fortnight as a failure. Communication is where most of our effort goes. Some of the people we support do not use speech, and almost every serious problem we are called in to resolve began with nobody slowing down enough to listen. For autistic people in particular, predictability and honest information about what happens next matter enormously, so we say what is coming before it arrives. The Care Quality Commission has not yet given us an overall rating. Talk to us and we will be realistic about what we can offer.

More about the care at MCK Support

Home Care at MCK Support

Home care in the South East usually costs £29 to £35 an hour, a regional guide rather than a price from this agency. MCK Support joined the CQC register on 23 July 2026 and has not yet been inspected, so there is no rating to consult. Its registration is narrower than most, covering home care for younger adults with a learning disability and for autistic people across this part of Kent. The agency describes support built around ambitions such as a tenancy, work or college, managing money and travelling independently, rather than around a list of needs. Kent council would be the authority to approach where support is publicly funded, so ask how hours are agreed, how often they are reviewed and what happens when needs change.

Younger Adults at MCK Support

Dartford is where MCK Support is based, and its registration is unusual in being aimed squarely at younger adults rather than older people. The agency frames the question as how to get on with things, listing a tenancy, work or college, friendships and managing money. Ask how support is timed around a working week, and how a bad fortnight is handled without the package being cut.

Learning Disability and Autism at MCK Support

MCK Support says it tries to do as little as necessary and as much as is genuinely required, a sound principle here. It puts most of its effort into communication, noting that some people it supports do not use speech and that predictability and honest information matter. Ask who holds the relevant training, how routines and sensory needs are recorded, and how often the package is reviewed.
