About SCP (Bowles Lodge)
Kent SCP at Bowles Lodge provides care and support to people in their own homes in and around Cranbrook. The people we work with include older people, younger adults, people living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss. Support belongs to the person receiving it. It is their home, their routine and their decision how help happens, and we fit around that rather than expecting the reverse. We visit first and take our time over the conversation, because what families assume is difficult and what the person finds difficult are often not the same thing. From that conversation we agree a plan, with family or an advocate involved whenever somebody wants them there, and we revise it as circumstances change rather than at fixed review dates. Visits cover personal care, medication, meals and drinks, housework and laundry, shopping, getting to appointments, and company for people whose days have grown quiet. For people living with dementia we keep the same small team visiting and work at their pace. Where somebody is managing a mental health condition we keep support consistent and work alongside their community team. This is a rural part of Kent, so we build rotas around real distances rather than ones that look efficient on paper and leave people waiting. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch to talk things through.
