About Nurse Next Door

Nurse Next Door Canterbury is a home care agency supporting older people and younger adults in their own homes across Canterbury and the surrounding part of Kent. Most of what we do looks unremarkable from the outside. Helping somebody out of bed and into the day. A hand with washing and dressing, which protects a great deal more than appearances. Medication at the right time, in the right order, written down properly. A meal actually cooked rather than something opened and left on a worktop. Shopping, laundry, a tidy kitchen. Help to move safely about the house. And a quarter of an hour sitting down with a cup of tea when that is what the visit really needs to be. None of it is dramatic and all of it decides whether a person can stay in the house they have lived in for decades, which is what almost everyone we meet wants. We work hardest at two things. Reliability, because older people in particular build their day around a visit and a carer who does not arrive leaves far more than a job undone. And continuity, because a carer who knows somebody is the one who notices the untouched food or the new confusion before it becomes a crisis. The Care Quality Commission has not yet given us an overall rating. Ring us and we will talk through what you actually need, without any pressure to take more than that.

More about the care at Nurse Next Door

Home Care at Nurse Next Door

Lantana Care Solutions is the provider behind this Canterbury agency, registered on 24 September 2026 and not yet inspected. Indicative South East rates for care at home are £29 to £35 an hour, which is a regional guide and not this agency's quote. It describes what it does as unremarkable from the outside and says all of it decides whether somebody can stay in the house they have lived in for decades. Ask what the minimum call length is, how many visits a day can be staffed, and what weekends add. Kent council may contribute after an assessment, usually at a rate below the private one.

Older Person Care at Nurse Next Door

A quarter of an hour sitting down with a cup of tea is part of the job here when that is what the visit really needs to be. The rest is helping somebody out of bed and into the day, a hand with washing and dressing, medication at the right time and in the right order and written down properly, a meal actually cooked, shopping and laundry, and help to move safely about the house. Nurse Next Door Canterbury says reliability and continuity are where it works hardest. Ask how many carers would come over a month and who covers holidays. Ask also what cover exists in the evening, at weekends and overnight.

Younger Adults at Nurse Next Door

Three categories only sit on this Canterbury registration: older person care, home care and younger adults. For an adult under 65 that means the service is built around visits rather than a programme, so the shape of the week is yours to set. Ask how times are agreed, whether they can change from week to week, and who would attend regularly.
