About Maidstone Home Care
Here at Maidstone Home Care, we provide care and support to people in their own homes across Aylesford and the surrounding areas of Kent. We believe that staying at home, in familiar surroundings, makes a real difference to how people feel day to day, and we work hard to make that possible for the people we support. Our team works with a wide range of individuals, including older adults, younger adults, and people living with dementia, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments. We take time to understand each person as an individual, building support around their routines, preferences, and goals rather than fitting them into a standard approach. We know that inviting a care worker into your home is a significant step, and we do not take that trust lightly. We aim to be consistent, reliable, and straightforward with the people we support and their families. If something is not working, we want to hear about it, and we are committed to acting on feedback and continuing to improve. We are open about the fact that our most recent CQC inspection resulted in a requires improvement rating. We have taken that outcome seriously and have been working through the areas identified, making practical changes to how we operate. We feel it is important to be honest about this rather than gloss over it, and we welcome any questions from prospective clients or their families about the steps we are taking. If you are considering home care for yourself or someone you care about in the Aylesford or wider Kent area, we would welcome the chance to have an initial conversation with no pressure or obligation. We are here to help you think through your options and find the right level of support.

What the inspectors found
A plain English summary of the Care Quality Commission inspection behind the current rating of Maidstone Home Care Limited. Report published 31 May 2022.
- 21 April 2022
Safe
Inspectors found that people were not always protected from harm. The provider had not always reported safeguarding concerns to the right professionals, which may have delayed support for a person. Care plans did not always have detailed health information, and identified risks were not always considered in care planning. Inspectors did not find evidence that people had experienced harm, but CQC identified a breach relating to safeguarding.
Well-led
Inspectors found that systems did not effectively identify or manage concerns with care planning, safeguarding or staff training. CQC was also not always told about concerns, and confidential information was not always managed securely. Staff did not always receive enough training, and supervision was generally informal. CQC identified a breach relating to governance. After the inspection, the provider told CQC it had put a new training programme in place.
