About Home First
We are Home First, and the name says what we believe: for most people, the best place to be cared for is the place they already live. We provide care and support in people's own homes in Hereford and across the county of Herefordshire, including the villages where getting a reliable visit can be harder to arrange. We support older people who need help through the day, adults living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. We also support younger adults who want to live independently and need the right amount of help to make that work. Practically, that can mean personal care, medication, meals, help getting to appointments, or simply somebody reliable turning up so that a family carer can rest. We plan our rounds around geography as well as need, so that visits arrive when they are supposed to and our care workers are not rushing through the door. If we are delayed we tell you. Our care workers are recruited with proper checks and trained before they work alone, and we are registered with the Care Quality Commission.
