About PBS4 U.K

PBS4 provides care and support in people's own homes in Southampton and across Hampshire. Our work is about making home a place where someone can be properly supported, so that moving somewhere else is not the only option available. Much of what we do is with adults who have a learning disability or autism. There the emphasis falls on communication suited to the individual, a routine that can be relied upon and support that builds skills and confidence rather than replacing them. We take the time to understand what a person is trying to tell us, including when that is not said in words, and we plan support that steps back as somebody grows into greater independence. We also support older adults who need help with the everyday things that have become harder: personal care, medication, meals, keeping the house in order and getting out safely. And we support younger adults, whose weeks are usually built around work, study, family or plans of their own, and whose support should fit around those things rather than take them over. We keep the team around each person as small and consistent as we can manage, because familiarity is what makes this kind of support workable.
