About Selective Care

Selective Care provides care in people's own homes in Fareham and the surrounding parts of Hampshire. Most people would rather stay at home than move, and our job is to make that a safe, dependable option rather than a hope. We support older adults with the practical things that have become difficult: personal care, medication, meals, keeping the house running and getting out when they want to. We support people living with dementia, and we have learned that continuity does more good than anything else, so we protect it wherever the rota allows. We work with adults who have a learning disability or autism, aiming to build confidence rather than do things for people, and with people living with mental health conditions, where a relationship built over time and early attention to changes count for most. We support people with physical disabilities, and people with a visual or hearing impairment, adapting how we announce ourselves, speak and explain so that nobody is left out of a conversation about their own care. We would always rather change a plan that has stopped fitting than keep it going out of habit, so we review how things are working and say honestly when something needs to alter.
