About Pilarstone Care

Pilarstone Care is a home care agency in Fareham, supporting people in their own homes across this part of Hampshire. We work with older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia and people who have a physical disability. Almost everybody we meet at a first visit says the same thing: they want to stay where they are. Making that realistic, for as long as it is safe and genuinely the better option, is the whole of our purpose. The work is practical. Help with washing and dressing. Medication managed and recorded carefully. Meals cooked rather than opened. Help to move safely about a home that may no longer suit its occupant. A dependable person turning up in a week that might otherwise be empty. And a proper break for families who have been holding things together on their own. We send the same carers to the same households wherever we can. That continuity is the mechanism and not the presentation: a carer who knows somebody notices the meal left untouched, the new bruise, or the confusion that was not there a fortnight ago. For people living with dementia, familiar faces and an unhurried pace achieve what explanation cannot. For people with a physical disability we take the trouble to learn each individual's preferred way of being assisted to move. The Care Quality Commission has not yet given us an overall rating. Call us and we will be plain about what we can do.

More about the care at Pilarstone Care

Dementia Care at Pilarstone Care

Familiar faces and an unhurried pace achieve what explanation cannot, and this agency says so plainly about dementia. That is the right order, because a stranger arriving unannounced turns a half hour of help into a half hour of reassurance. The agency also notes that a familiar carer spots the confusion that was not there a fortnight ago, which is how decline gets caught early. Ask what dementia training the carers have completed. Ask how a refused visit is handled, and how the plan is revised as the condition advances through its stages.

Home Care at Pilarstone Care

Pilarstone Care has been registered since 5 October 2026 and has no inspection report behind it yet. Home care means visits at agreed times in a person's own home, at South East rates typically between £29 and £35 an hour. Hampshire will assess and may fund a package after a needs assessment. The agency says continuity is the mechanism and not the presentation, because a carer who knows somebody notices the meal left untouched or the confusion that was not there a fortnight ago. Ask how visits are recorded, how often the plan is reviewed, and who a relative can telephone at the weekend.

Older Person Care at Pilarstone Care

Making it realistic to stay put, for as long as that is safe and genuinely the better option, is how this agency states its purpose. The work behind it is help with washing and dressing, medication managed and recorded carefully, meals cooked rather than opened, and help to move safely about a home that may no longer suit its occupant. Pilarstone Care says it sends the same carers to the same households wherever it can. Ask how long each visit lasts and how many different carers would come in a fortnight. Ask what can be covered in the evening, since overnight support in Fareham would be a separate arrangement.

Younger Adults at Pilarstone Care

Families holding things together on their own are offered a proper break here, though an adult under sixty five usually wants something else from home care. Support has to fit around work, study and a social life rather than organise the day around visits. Ask whether call times can move with a timetable, and whether the same carers can be relied on.

Physical Disability at Pilarstone Care

The new bruise is one of the things a familiar carer notices, this agency says, and that matters most for somebody who cannot easily move. The work itself is transfers, personal care and help to get about indoors without having independence taken over. Ask whether carers are trained on the equipment already in the house, and who arranges an occupational therapy review.
