About Thinkempathy

Thinkempathy provides care and support in people's own homes across Basingstoke and the surrounding parts of Hampshire. We work with older people, adults living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people with physical disabilities and younger adults who want support that fits around their own plans. Our name reflects how we try to work. Before we write a care plan we spend time understanding what a person's ordinary day looks like, what they want to keep hold of and what they find hardest. Two people needing help with the same task often need it delivered in completely different ways, and getting that right is most of the job. Support can be a brief morning visit or several calls a day, covering personal care, medication, meals, mobility and getting out into the community. For autistic adults and people with learning disabilities we pay close attention to predictability, communication and sensory needs, because support that ignores those causes distress no matter how kindly it is meant. We keep families and professionals properly informed and we raise concerns early rather than waiting for a crisis. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission.
