We work with older people and younger adults, including people who have a learning disability, autistic people and people living with a physical disability. Complex care is a phrase that can make a person sound like a problem to be managed, so we try to use it carefully. What it means in practice is that the people we support often need a great deal of help, sometimes at every hour, and that the help has to be skilled, consistent and arranged around the individual rather than a standard template.
