We support people in their own homes, and our aim is straightforward: to make staying at home a realistic and safe option for as long as somebody wants it. Most of our work is with older adults. How much we do and how often we come varies enormously from one person to another, and we would always rather adjust a plan that is not working than leave it in place because it was agreed at the start. We also support younger adults who need care at home, where the shape of a good week looks quite different and is planned around work, study, family and independence rather than around a standard routine. We try to send the same small group of care workers to each person. It makes the practical side better, because familiar staff notice changes early, and it makes the human side better too.
