About Us

Severn Dean Support provides care and support to people in their own homes in Cinderford and across the Forest of Dean. We work with older people, with adults who have a learning disability and with autistic adults, with people who have mental health needs, physical disabilities or a visual or hearing impairment, and with younger adults. Each package is planned around the person rather than offered from a list. For some people it is help at the start and end of the day with washing, dressing, medication and a meal. For others it is longer support with mobility, the house, the shopping and getting out. For adults with a learning disability and for autistic adults, the work is often about making independent living practical, from budgeting and cooking to keeping a tenancy going. Covering a rural area with scattered villages means being realistic about travel, so we plan rounds carefully, arrive when we said we would and telephone if we are held up. It also makes consistent carers more important rather than less. We agree the plan with the person and anyone they want involved, write it plainly and review it as needs change.
