About Us

Bluebird Care in Southend and Rochford provides care and support to people in their own homes across the area. We work with older people, younger adults, people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, people managing an eating disorder, people with physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss.

We work on the principle that support belongs to the person receiving it. Their house, their routine, their decisions. We visit first, at no cost and with no obligation, and we talk properly about how the day goes now and what would make the difference. The plan follows from that, with family or an advocate involved whenever somebody wants them there.

Consistency is something we are stubborn about. The same small team, introduced properly, arriving when we said and staying for the time agreed. Where somebody is living with dementia, or autistic, or cannot see or hear well, a familiar face and a predictable routine do more good than anything else we could offer.

Support covers personal care, medication, meals and drinks, housework and laundry, shopping, getting out to appointments or somewhere sociable, and company. Where somebody has an eating disorder we make sure the people visiting understand what is needed and we work alongside the relevant clinical teams.
