About Us
At Right at Home Billericay, Brentwood and Havering, we provide personalised home care to people across Brentwood and the surrounding areas of Essex. Our focus is on enabling people to live comfortably and confidently in their own homes, on their own terms.
We support a wide range of individuals, including older adults, younger adults, and people living with dementia, physical disabilities, or visual and hearing impairments. We also have experience supporting people managing eating disorders, which is an area that requires particular sensitivity and understanding. Whatever the circumstances, we take time to get to know each person properly before care begins, so that what we provide genuinely fits around their life rather than the other way around.
Care at home means something different to everyone. For some people it is help with everyday tasks, for others it is companionship, personal care, or more complex support. We work closely with clients and their families to agree on what is needed and how it should be delivered, and we revisit that regularly as needs change.
We are proud that our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us as Good. That matters to us not as a badge to display, but because it reflects the standard our team consistently works to maintain in people's homes day to day.
We know that inviting someone into your home, or into the home of someone you love, is not a decision made lightly. We treat that trust seriously. Our team is carefully chosen, well supported, and expected to deliver care that they would be comfortable receiving themselves.
If you would like to find out more about how we might be able to help, we are always happy to have an honest conversation about your situation and what options might suit you best.

More about the care at Right at Home Billericay, Brentwood & Havering
What each type of care involves, and the questions worth asking when you call or visit.
Older Person Care
Older people tend to notice unreliability before they notice anything else about a care service, so punctuality is a fair place to start. The work itself covers help with washing and dressing, medication prompted on time, a meal made, and enough conversation to tell how somebody is. Right at Home Billericay, Brentwood & Havering is registered for older person care, with hourly rates in the East commonly between £28 and £33. Ask how many carers would be involved across a fortnight and whether a small team can be maintained. Ask what time the final call of the day can be, and what weekend cover looks like. Ask how a change in need is spotted and passed on.
Dementia
Nothing in dementia care beats knowing the person, because a carer who understands somebody's history can prevent most of the difficulties a stranger would create. Steady timings, familiar faces and a house left in its usual order reduce the number of puzzles in a day. Agitation generally has a physical or environmental cause, and pain, noise, thirst and needing the lavatory cover most of it. Right at Home Billericay, Brentwood & Havering is registered for dementia care, so ask what training carers complete and how notes travel between them. Ask what the service advises as the condition progresses and how it responds to somebody going out at night.
Physical Disability
Transfers and bathing are where risk concentrates, and where training either shows or does not. Equipment needs to suit the house as well as the person, with two carers where two are genuinely required. Right at Home Billericay, Brentwood & Havering is registered to support adults with physical disabilities, so ask about moving and handling training and who arranges an occupational therapy assessment.
Visual / Hearing Impairment
Sensory loss is usually gradual, so support has to keep pace with it rather than being set once and forgotten. Lighting, contrast, clear labelling and carers who identify themselves on arrival are the practical measures that help. Right at Home Billericay, Brentwood & Havering is registered for visual and hearing impairment, so ask how aids are checked and how staff are trained to communicate.
Eating Disorders
Food becomes complicated where there is an eating disorder, and mealtime support needs to be calm and structured rather than watchful. Home care works alongside clinical treatment rather than replacing it, with carers following a plan specialists have set. Right at Home Billericay, Brentwood & Havering is registered for eating disorder support, so ask which clinicians are involved and how carers are briefed and supervised.
Younger Adults
Younger adults are a minority in most care services, which is exactly why the question is worth putting directly. Right at Home Billericay, Brentwood & Havering is registered for adults under 65, so ask how visits fit around work, study or children. Ask too how stable the carer team would be over a year.
