About Us

Ebony Healthcare provides care and support at home in Brentwood and across Essex. We work with older people, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people with mental health needs and younger adults.

Our starting point is that people should be helped to stay in charge of their own lives, which sounds obvious but changes how support is planned. We ask what somebody wants help with, what they would rather manage themselves and what they do not want us involved in at all, and we take those answers seriously.

For older people, support might be personal care, medication, meals and a hand with the house, delivered by the same small team at times that suit the household. For autistic people and adults with learning disabilities the emphasis is usually different: support to cook, to manage money and appointments, to travel, to get to work or college, and to keep up friendships and family relationships. Where we support people with mental health needs, we aim to be the dependable part of the week and to work in step with the community teams involved rather than around them.

We are careful about the size of the teams we build around each person, because care at home falls apart when the face at the door keeps changing.
