About Us
We are GoodOaks Homecare in East Herts, and we provide care at home for people living in and around Bishop's Stortford. Our visits take place in people's own houses and flats, which is where most of those we support would much rather be.
We work with older adults, people living with dementia, adults with a physical disability and younger adults. The help itself can be quite practical: assistance with washing and dressing, support with medication, preparing a meal, a hand with shopping or laundry, or support to get to an appointment. It can also be simpler than that. Sometimes the most valuable half hour of the week is the one where somebody sits down and talks.
For anybody living with dementia we try hard to keep visits consistent in time and in staffing, because familiarity does more good than almost anything else. We also know how much weight falls on family carers, and we are glad to be the reason somebody gets an afternoon to themselves.
Everything we do is agreed with the person at the outset and reviewed as things change. If the care is not right, we want to know quickly.
We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and have not yet received an overall rating.
