About Us
GoodOaks Homecare supports people in their own homes in Bishop's Stortford and the surrounding area. We work with older people and younger adults, including those living with dementia and people with a physical disability.
Most people who contact us want to stay exactly where they are, and with the right help that is usually achievable. We begin by asking what has become hard and what someone would prefer to manage alone, and we build our visits around the answers. That might mean help to wash and dress in the morning, support with medication, a hot meal, a hand with the shopping and housework, or a call at bedtime so that someone can settle safely.
Where a person is living with dementia, consistency does most of the work. We aim to send the same carers at the same times, because a familiar face at a familiar hour is reassuring rather than unsettling, and because those carers then notice quickly when something has changed.
Reliability is what people judge home care on, so we plan rounds we can keep and tell people promptly if a visit must move. With the person's agreement we keep families updated and raise health concerns early with GPs and community teams.
