VCare 24 provides home care to people in York and the surrounding area. We support people living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, and people who have sight or hearing loss.
We come to you, which means our work has to bend around your household rather than the other way round. Depending on what is needed, a visit might cover help with washing and dressing, prompting or giving medicines, cooking a meal and seeing that it is eaten, laundry and tidying, shopping, or support to get out to appointments and to see people. Some visits are short and practical, others are longer, and for some people company is as much the point as the tasks.
Before anything starts we agree a plan with you, and with your family if that is what you want. We ask how you like things done, what you would rather manage yourself, what a difficult day looks like and who we should contact if we are worried. Then we revisit that plan when your circumstances change instead of filing it away.
