About Us

We are Mappleton, based at Hornsea on the East Riding coast, and we provide care in people's own homes across the area. We support older people, including many living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss.

Out here, distances are real and villages are small, and for some of the people we visit our carer is the main person they see in a day. We say that plainly because it shapes how we work: the practical tasks matter, but so does the fact that somebody comes, notices how you are, and stays long enough to have a proper conversation.

Support is agreed with the person before it starts. We ask how the day runs now, what has become difficult, what they still want to manage themselves, and what would make the biggest difference. That might mean help with washing and dressing, a prompt and a check with medication, a meal cooked and shared, help getting safely about the house, or a hand with shopping and appointments.

For people living with dementia, keeping things familiar does more good than anything else we could offer, so we work hard to send the same carers to the same households. A carer who knows somebody well is also the first to notice when something has changed.
