About Us
LA's Community Care provides support at home for people in Beverley and across the East Riding of Yorkshire. Our carers visit people where they live, helping with the parts of the day that have become difficult while leaving the rest well alone. Most of the people we visit are older, many are living with dementia, and we also support younger adults.
Everything begins with a proper conversation in your own home about your routine, your preferences and where help would make the biggest difference. Visits can cover personal care, help with medication, cooking a meal, shopping and housework, getting out to appointments, or company for somebody who sees very few people in a week. We try to keep the same small group of carers going to the same people, because a familiar face at the door changes the character of the whole visit.
We should be open with you about where we stand. The Care Quality Commission most recently judged that we require improvement overall. We did not dispute the findings. We have a plan of work in place, we are progressing it and we are reporting on that progress to the inspectors and to the local authority. We would far rather tell you this plainly than have you find it out afterwards.
