About Dale Care

Dale Care supports adults in their own homes across Durham and the surrounding parts of the county. We work with a wide range of people. Older people and those living with dementia make up much of what we do, and we also support adults with a learning disability or autism, people living with mental health needs, adults with a physical disability, people with a visual or hearing impairment and younger adults. That range means we plan individually. We want to know how a person's day works now, what they still manage themselves, what has become difficult and what they would rather we did not touch in their own home. Support that could belong to anyone tends to help nobody in particular. Consistency is the thing we protect hardest. Care at home is a relationship as much as a set of tasks, and someone who has to explain themselves to a new face every week is not really being supported. For people living with dementia, a familiar carer is not a preference, it is the whole reason a visit goes well. County Durham covers a lot of ground and some of the people we visit are fairly isolated, so we plan travel into rotas properly and treat conversation as part of the visit rather than an extra. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was good. If you would like to talk about care at home here, please get in touch.
