About Creative Support - & Kirklees Services

We are Creative Support in Calderdale and Kirklees, based in Halifax and providing support to people in their own homes across both areas. We work with adults who have a learning disability, autistic adults, people managing a mental health condition, people with a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment, people living with an eating disorder, and people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or drug use. Our approach is about enabling people rather than doing things to them. Support is planned with the person, around the life they want rather than around what is convenient for us to deliver. For some that means help with the practicalities of running a home and managing money. For others it means support to hold down work, study, keep appointments, stay connected to family, or simply to get through the harder stretches without everything unravelling. We recruit for attitude as much as experience. The people we support are often the ones who have been let down before, and what tends to matter most is a worker who turns up, listens and does not give up when progress is slow. We work closely with mental health teams, social workers, GPs and specialist services, and we keep support under review as people move forward. Our most recent CQC overall rating is good.
