Consultancy Care is a home care agency in Bracknell, supporting people in their own homes across Bracknell Forest and the area around it. We take on a wider range of need than many agencies of our size. Most of our work is with older adults, a good number living with dementia. We also support people with a learning disability, autistic people, people with a physical disability, and people who are blind, partially sighted, deaf or hard of hearing. We support people living with a serious mental health condition, people with an eating disorder, and people whose difficulties involve alcohol or drugs. Being willing to take that work on means being careful about who we send. Supporting somebody with an eating disorder, or alongside a drink or drug problem, asks for steadiness rather than opinion, for turning up again after a difficult week, and for the judgement to know when a situation needs somebody with different training. We recruit and supervise with that in mind, and we say plainly when something is beyond us. The practical help is the same across all of it. Washing and dressing, medicines, meals, shopping, housework, appointments, getting out of the house, and someone keeping a quiet eye on how a person is doing.
