About Us

We are Sugarman Health and Wellbeing in Dorset, a home care agency supporting adults across the Poole area in their own homes. The people we work with have widely differing needs, and what holds our approach together is that support is planned around the individual rather than assembled from a standard menu.

We support people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions, people living with a physical disability and people with sight or hearing loss. We also support people living with eating disorders and people in recovery from alcohol or drug misuse, and we approach that work without judgement and without assuming we already know somebody's story.

Support of this kind rests on trust, and trust rests on consistency. We plan our rounds so that people see familiar workers rather than a different name each week, because being properly known is what makes it possible for somebody to say when things are going badly rather than covering it up.
