About Us
Alina Homecare in Christchurch provides care at home across the town and the surrounding area. We support older adults and younger adults, people living with dementia, and people with a physical disability.
Our work happens in people's own houses, which is where nearly everybody would rather be. The help ranges from a short call in the morning through to several visits a day: personal care, support with medication, meals, keeping the home in order, getting out and about, and company for people who would otherwise see nobody.
Because this work takes place in somebody's private space, often at moments when they feel exposed, how it is done matters as much as what is done. Knocking and waiting. Explaining before acting. Protecting privacy during personal care as a matter of course rather than when reminded. Speaking to the person rather than over their head to whoever else is in the room.
We keep the same care workers going to the same households wherever we can. Familiarity is what allows somebody to notice that today is not like yesterday, and that early noticing is very often what keeps a person safe at home.
