About Us

My Homecare Bournemouth supports people in their own homes across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. We visit older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia or with mental ill health, people with a learning disability, people who are autistic, people with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment.

We start with a visit and a proper conversation rather than a form. What we need to understand is how the day goes at the moment, where it has become difficult and what kind of help would genuinely be welcome. From that we agree a plan with the person and, if they want it, with their family, write it down plainly and review it as circumstances change.

Visits can cover getting up and settling at night, washing and dressing, prompting or assisting with medication, preparing meals, housework, shopping and getting out to appointments or to see people. We also provide dependable cover for relatives who are caring for somebody themselves and need to work or rest.

We plan rotas to keep the same carers going to the same households, because trust takes time and a familiar carer notices when something is not right.
