About Us
The Mill House is a residential care home in Worcester, providing a permanent home for older people who need help with the practical side of everyday life. We try to keep the atmosphere domestic, because that is what most people actually want.
Our care is residential rather than nursing. We help with personal care, medication, meals, mobility and company, bringing in community health professionals when something more clinical is needed. Many of our residents live with dementia, and our approach is to learn each person's history and habits properly so that we can reassure them in terms that make sense to them. Continuity is what makes this work, so we protect it wherever we can: familiar faces, a routine that holds steady and an unhurried pace.
Respite stays are available, giving family carers a real break and letting a prospective resident get the feel of the home before any permanent decision is taken.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We would rather be judged on an ordinary Tuesday than on anything we could write here, so if you are considering the home for someone you love, please visit, talk to residents and their families, and ask us the questions you would rather not have to ask.
