About Us
Parkside Lodge Care Home is a residential care home in Worthing, and we look after older people who need more support than can comfortably be managed at home. Moving into a care home is a considerable step, so our first job is to make somebody feel that this is their home rather than somewhere they have been placed.
We keep to the rhythms people bring with them. If someone has always risen late, taken tea rather than coffee, or preferred a quiet corner to a busy room, that is what we work around. Families tell us the small details matter most, and we write them down and pass them on so that nobody has to explain themselves twice.
A number of the people living here are living with dementia. We try to meet that with patience, familiar faces and a calm pace, keeping the day predictable and giving people time to do things at their own speed rather than ours. Relatives are welcome, and we would always rather they felt part of daily life here than visitors to it.
We also offer respite stays, whether that is planned relief for a family carer, a period of recovery after a spell in hospital, or a chance to try the home before making a longer decision.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good, and we keep working at it. You are very welcome to come and see the home for yourself.
