About Us

Langbury House is a residential care home in Worthing, West Sussex, supporting adults who need help with daily living in an ordinary house rather than an institution.

The people who live here include adults who have a learning disability or who are autistic, people living with a physical disability, people with a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults. We adapt how we communicate and how the house is used so that everybody can take part in what is happening rather than watching from the edge of it.

We start with the person. We find out how they communicate, what they want help with, what they would rather do for themselves and what they would like to work towards. Support plans are written with them, and with families or advocates where that is wanted, and we revisit them as circumstances change.

We also offer respite stays, giving family carers a planned break while their relative stays somewhere welcoming and properly staffed.

We would rather be open about our regulator. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We are not satisfied with that. We have taken it seriously, there is work in hand to put things right, and we are willing to go through it in detail with anyone considering us.

If you would like to see Langbury House, please get in touch and arrange a visit. Come and meet the team and ask us whatever you want to know.
