About Avon Manor
Avon Manor is a residential care home in Worthing, West Sussex, providing a settled home for older people who need support with daily living. We care for residents living with dementia, and we offer respite stays for people who need care for a shorter period or whose usual carer needs a rest. We aim for an ordinary life with good support behind it. Residents choose when they get up, how they spend their days and what they eat. Meals are cooked on the premises and preferences are remembered, down to how somebody takes their tea. There is company and activity for those who enjoy it and no pressure on anyone who would rather have peace. Dementia support runs through everything we do. We ask families to tell us about a person's life, their work, their music, their habits and their dislikes, because that knowledge is what allows staff to offer comfort that genuinely comforts. Familiar faces, calm surroundings and an unhurried pace do far more good than any rigid approach. We work closely with local GPs and community nurses so that changes in health are picked up early, and we keep families properly informed. Relatives are welcome whenever it suits them. The Care Quality Commission most recently rated us good overall. Please come and see the home for yourself.
