About Us
Park Lodge is a residential care home in Crawley supporting adults with a learning disability or autism, and we offer respite stays.
We keep the house small and settled on purpose. The people who live here know each other and know the staff, and support can be shaped around individuals rather than around a timetable that has to cover a large building. Everyone has their own room and their own belongings, and a real say in how the household runs, from what is cooked to how the week is planned.
Our staff support people to do things rather than doing things for them. Cooking, shopping, managing money, using transport and getting out locally are done together, because independence is built through practice rather than handed over.
Communication is the foundation of all of it. Some of the people here use speech, others use signs, symbols or objects, and others show us what they need through behaviour that takes patience to read properly. We learn each person's way and keep learning as it changes.
Routines are steady here and changes are planned and talked through well in advance. We also think carefully about sensory things such as noise, light and how busy a space feels.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was good.

Ask the home. End of life care is not listed on the register. Ask the manager whether residents can remain in the home with hospice or district nurse support.
Can she bring her cat or dog?
Ask the home. The home has not told us its pet policy yet. Ask directly; some homes allow small pets in residents' rooms or welcome visiting dogs.
Can a couple stay together?
Ask the home. We do not know whether the home has rooms for couples. Ask about shared or adjoining rooms if this matters.
Will the council help pay, or is it self funded only?
Ask the home. The home has not told us which funding it accepts. Most homes take both council funded and self funded residents; ask about council rates and any top up. Use our funding calculator to check what you might pay.
Do they take younger adults as well as older people?
Ask the home. The register does not say which age groups the home supports. Ask the home.
Can I visit before deciding, and are there visiting hours?
Ask the home. Every home should welcome a visit. Call to arrange one, ideally at a mealtime or during an activity, and ask about visiting hours for family.
