About Greenways
We are Greenways, a residential care home in Crawley. We support older people and younger adults, including adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people managing a mental health condition, and people with a visual or hearing impairment. With that mix of people living under one roof, a single routine would suit nobody, so we do not run one. People get up when they are ready, eat what suits them and spend the day as they choose. What stays constant is that staff are about and that they know the people here well enough to see when somebody is struggling with something they would not put into words. Support plans are written with the person and with anyone they want involved, and they are reviewed when circumstances change rather than at set intervals. Where somebody wants to take on more for themselves, whether that is cooking, managing appointments or getting out independently, we build it up at their pace instead of deciding in advance what is realistic. Communication is central. We learn how each person tells us what they want, in whatever form that takes, and we make sure new staff learn it too before working alone. We work closely with families, social workers, GPs and community teams, and we offer respite stays as well as permanent places. Our most recent CQC overall rating is good. Please get in touch if you would like to visit.
