About Meade Close
Meade Close is a residential care home in Trafford, on the Manchester side. We support older people and younger adults, including people with learning disabilities, autistic people and people with sight or hearing loss, and we offer respite stays. We should say plainly that our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We accepted what was found, we have been working through it, and if you are considering us for yourself or a relative, please ask us what has changed and speak to the people who live here. The house is run with the people in it rather than around them. Residents choose how their rooms look, what they eat, how they spend their time and what part they play in the household. Cooking, shopping and laundry are things people do with support where they can, not things done for them. Communication matters a great deal here. Some people use speech, others signing, pictures or objects, and some show us how they feel in ways you only learn by knowing them. Our staff are trained accordingly and we keep the team as consistent as we can. Where sight or hearing is affected we pay attention to lighting, contrast and how we announce ourselves. For autistic residents we keep routines stable and give notice of change well in advance. Please get in touch if you would like to visit and look round properly.
