About Coxley House

Coxley House is a residential care home in Tower Hamlets, east London. We look after older people who need help through the day, people who have managed a mental health condition for many years, and some younger adults. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. We are not a nursing home and we are clear with families about where that line falls. What we do is the daily work of helping somebody wash and dress, take their medicines, eat properly, move about safely and stay connected to other people. Where somebody has lived with a mental health condition for a long time, the work is mostly patient and ordinary. Keeping a routine steady when they are unwell. Noticing early when things are sliding and saying so without making a crisis of it. Helping with medication, appointments and money. Backing off when somebody is well and wants to get on with their own life. Being in the middle of the city is part of what we offer. Buses and markets, a mosque or a church, a park, a chip shop. Several of the people here go out most days, and that is the point rather than a risk to be managed away. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Come and visit and talk to the people who live here.
