About Us
The Vicarage Residential Care Home is in Tameside. We care for older people who need support with everyday life, including residents living with dementia.
What we provide is help with the ordinary business of the day: assistance to wash and dress, medication managed properly and on time, meals cooked on the premises, support to get about safely and staff available through the night. For residents living with dementia we keep the rhythm of the day predictable and the staff around them consistent, and we lean on what families can tell us about a person's history.
We should be straightforward with you about our position. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We have been working through the points raised, particularly around record keeping, staff supervision and the consistency of care planning, and we would encourage anyone considering the home to ask us about that directly rather than take our word for it. Relatives are involved in that work, since they are best placed to judge whether things have actually improved.
Respite stays are available alongside permanent places.
Families across Tameside and Manchester are welcome to visit. Please ring and we will arrange a time.
