About David House

David House is a residential care home in Wallington supporting older people, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, including younger adults. Our approach does not change from one person to the next. We take time to learn how somebody communicates, what a good day looks like for them and what tends to make a difficult one, and then we build their support around that rather than fitting everybody into the same routine. We care for people living with dementia as well, where continuity and patience achieve more than anything else we could offer. Life here runs around the people who live in the house rather than around a timetable. People get up when they are ready, spend their time on things they genuinely enjoy and keep their own belongings and routines around them. Where somebody can take on more for themselves, we make room for it rather than stepping in out of habit. Respite stays are available too, for people who need support for a short period and for family carers who need a break. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. The measure we trust more is whether people here look at ease and whether relatives feel welcome to drop in.
