About 13 Manor Crescent
Manor Crescent in Byfleet is a small residential care home. We support adults with a learning disability, autistic adults and people with physical disabilities, and we offer respite stays for people who need a short break or whose family carer needs one. This is a house in an ordinary road and we run it as a home rather than a unit. There are few of us, which means the people supporting you know you properly. Everyone has their own room and their own belongings, and a say in how the house is run, from the shopping list to what happens at the weekend. Support is planned with each person, in a form they can use, covering how they like to be helped, what they enjoy, what they find difficult and what they want to be doing with their time. Where somebody has a physical disability, we work around what they can do for themselves and make sure the equipment and arrangements support that rather than get in the way. Where somebody does not use speech, we learn how they do communicate and make sure everyone supporting them knows. When someone becomes distressed we look for the cause rather than the fastest way to stop it, and any restriction on freedom is agreed properly, recorded and reviewed. The Care Quality Commission rated us good overall at our most recent inspection. Families, advocates and professionals are welcome to visit.
