About Us

At R M P Care on Oulton Road, we provide residential care for younger adults living with a learning disability or autism, in the heart of Stone, Staffordshire. We also offer respite care, giving families and carers a planned break while knowing their loved one is in a familiar, welcoming environment.

We are proud to hold an Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the genuine effort our whole team puts in every single day. That recognition matters to us, not because of the label itself, but because it tells the people we support and their families that they can trust us to get things right.

Life here is built around the individual. We take time to understand what matters to each person, how they like to spend their days, what makes them feel comfortable, and what goals they want to work towards. Support is shaped around those things, not the other way around. We believe that living with a learning disability or autism should never mean settling for a smaller life, and we work hard to make sure the people in our care have real opportunities to grow, connect, and enjoy themselves.

We know that choosing a care home, whether for full time support or a short respite stay, is one of the most significant decisions a family can make. We welcome visits, questions, and honest conversations, because we think the right fit matters enormously for everyone involved.

Our team is consistent, attentive, and genuinely invested in the wellbeing of everyone who lives here. We communicate openly with families and involve the people we support in decisions about their own lives as fully as possible.

More about the care at R M P Care - 20 Oulton Road

What each type of care involves, and the questions worth asking when you call or visit.

Learning Disability / Autism

Living with a learning disability or autism should never mean settling for a smaller life, as this home puts it, and it talks about real opportunities to grow, connect and enjoy themselves. Alongside that ambition sit the practical things, predictable routines, attention to sensory needs and patience over independence skills. Ask who holds the relevant training, how Staffordshire commissions and reviews a placement, and how often goals are revisited.

Younger Adults

RMP Care has held this registration since 19 January 2011, and the home is aimed squarely at younger adults rather than older people. That makes contemporaries far more likely here than in a typical care home. Ask who else of a similar age lives there, what the week holds, and how much say residents have over goals and activities.

Respite Care

Respite at Oulton Road is described as a planned break for families and carers, in a familiar and welcoming environment. Short stays normally need booking well ahead and often carry a minimum length, so ask what applies. Pack medication and a note of routines, and treat the stay as a way of judging whether the home would suit permanently.

Residential Care

An outstanding rating was awarded here after an inspection in December 2018, which very few homes achieve, though it is now some years old. Residential care means support with everyday living rather than nursing, so personal care, medication, cooked meals and the shape of a week are provided without a registered nurse on site. Anyone whose health needs regular clinical attention would be looking at a nursing home instead. West Midlands weekly fees usually run from £850 to £1150, while Staffordshire council pays about £680 to £820. Ask what the fee covers, what is charged separately, and what has changed since that inspection.
