About Us
Alder Grange is a care home near Stoke on Trent. We provide residential care for older people, and we support people living with dementia, people with a physical disability, people with a visual or hearing impairment and people managing a mental health condition. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places.
Supporting that range of people under one roof works only if nobody is treated as a category. Somebody in the later stages of dementia and somebody who has managed a mental health condition for thirty years need almost opposite things from us. So we sit down with each person, work out what their week should actually contain, and arrange staffing around that rather than the reverse.
Residents decide how their own day runs, keep their own things around them and see visitors when it suits them.
Where sight or hearing has failed, we say who has come into the room and describe what is happening rather than assuming it is obvious.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
Please come and visit if you are considering care locally, and talk to the people living here.
