About Us
Fiennes House is a residential care home in Wellington, Somerset, and part of SeeAbility. We support adults who need care to live well, with particular experience of supporting people who have a visual or hearing impairment alongside other needs.
The adults who live here include people with a learning disability, autistic adults, and people with physical disabilities. Many are younger adults with a great deal of life ahead of them, and we plan support around that rather than around a diagnosis. What we are really trying to do is widen what is possible for someone. That might mean the right equipment and the right environment so a person can find their own way round the house confidently, support to communicate in the way that works for them, or help to get out and do things locally that would otherwise be out of reach.
We also offer respite stays, which can give families a break and give the person staying with us a change of scene and some new company.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was good. We took the findings seriously and we keep our own checks going between inspections, because the people who live here deserve consistency rather than a burst of effort.
If you are looking for a home or a short stay for someone you care about, please get in touch. You are very welcome to visit and see how the house works day to day.
