About Wellington Road
Wellington Road is a residential care home in Taunton, Somerset. We support adults with a learning disability, adults on the autistic spectrum, people living with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and younger adults, and we offer respite stays as well as settled places. Our starting point is that this is where people live, so people decide how their own days go. Some of the people here go out to work, college or activities, some are building the skills and confidence for more independent living, and some want a quieter and more predictable home life. All of those are perfectly good answers. Support is practical. Help with personal care, cooking and shopping, managing money and appointments, using local transport, or keeping in touch with family and friends. Where somebody can do a thing themselves, our part is to support them to do it rather than to do it for them, even when that takes longer. Communication takes real effort here. People tell us what they want in very different ways, and learning each person's way is what makes decisions genuinely theirs. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you would like to visit and meet the team, you would be very welcome.
