About Us
We are United Response at Woodlawn Crescent in Twickenham, a residential care home supporting adults with a range of needs. That includes older people and younger adults, people with a learning disability or autism, people living with dementia, people with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment. We also offer respite stays.
Because people arrive here by very different routes, we do not run the house to a single pattern. Some people need considerable practical support through the day. Others mainly want a settled base, a bit of structure and someone reliable to check in with. We find out which by asking, and we keep asking, because what somebody needs at the start is rarely what they need a year on.
Communication gets close attention. Several of the people we support do not use speech as their main means of getting a point across, and understanding somebody properly is the difference between them directing their own life and having it arranged around them.
Twickenham is on the doorstep and people here use it, keeping up the interests, friendships and routines they had before moving in.
Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.
