About Us
We are a residential care home on Mayfair Avenue in Twickenham. Those living here include older people, some living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. We are home to younger adults as well as older ones, and we offer respite stays.
There are few enough of us that nobody gets lost. Staff know each resident's habits properly, and the household adapts to the people in it rather than the reverse.
A mixed household also means we cannot run one routine and expect it to suit everybody, so we work out individually what a good day looks like for each person.
Where somebody communicates differently, whether because of a sensory impairment or for another reason, we sort that out properly at the start, because everything else we do rests on it.
We keep an eye on weight, appetite and mood, because those are usually the first signs that something has changed for somebody.
Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep asking the people who live here, and those who know them best, what we should be doing differently.
