About Us
Forest Dene Residential Care Home is in Redbridge, in east London. We are a permanent home to older people, and we also offer respite stays for those who need care for a short period or whose family carer needs a break. Most of our residents need help with personal care, moving about safely, medication and meals. A good number are living with dementia, and that shapes how the whole house works: we keep the day recognisable, keep the same faces around people, leave belongings where their owners put them, and give somebody who is anxious time rather than argument. We also support people with physical disabilities, where equipment, seating and access decide how much independence somebody actually has, and people living with sight or hearing loss, where how we announce ourselves and share information matters a great deal. Food is cooked here, and in a borough as varied as this one we ask about tastes and about dietary and religious requirements rather than assuming. There is somewhere sociable to sit and somewhere quiet, and nobody is obliged to join in with anything. Families visit when it suits them. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please arrange to come and see us, ideally when the house is busy, and talk to whoever is on duty.
