About Khiron Clinics

Khiron Clinics is a residential setting near Wantage. We support adults, including younger adults and older people, who are working on their mental health, and people managing an eating disorder or difficulties with alcohol or drugs. We also offer respite stays. People arrive here at very different points. Some have been unwell for a long time and have tried a good deal already. Others are at the start of something. What they have in common is that they need somewhere settled, staff who do not judge them, and enough structure to make change possible without taking their decisions away from them. Our approach is recovery focused. We assume people can move forward, and we build support around what somebody wants their life to look like rather than around managing them. That means being consistent and patient, being honest when something is not working, and treating a setback as part of the process rather than as a failure. Food and mealtimes can be complicated ground for some of the people we support, and we handle that with care rather than with rules, working alongside the relevant clinical teams and keeping our approach consistent between staff. We work closely with community mental health teams, GPs and, where people want it, with families. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to talk things through.
